On this week’s podcast, Tony is joined by Anna Paul, the Director of a less than two-year-old literacy program based in Clark County, Washington called, Read Northwest.  Their slogan is, “Word by Word, Life by Life.”

In Clark County 21 of 62 elementary schools are Title One and it is estimated that 5% of 3rd grade children do not read at grade level.  There are more than 3,500 children that need reading support.

Under Anna’s direction, and a country wide effort alongside educators, organizers and business people, Read NW is growing at a rate of 300% every year and has incredible favor inside the school system.
