At Teach a Kid to Read, we are dedicated to providing support and literacy services to those in need by activating a cavalry of caring volunteers.”

Vision

TEACH a KID to READ believes literacy is critical to the success of a child’s life. We are on a mission to transform the landscape of literacy, one person at a time. We strive to help children, families, communities and schools gain access to the resources they need to learn to read and succeed.

History

TEACH a KID to READ (and its predecessor Be Undivided) was built on the simple idea that America’s under-resourced schools need a cavalry of caring adults AND we have discovered that most every American agrees. Beginning in 2017, we began our mission of transforming schools and communities. Our hope is to create a national movement, which ignites a change in the current system and positively affects childhood literacy. TEACH a KID to READ is fueled by these principles:

Jeff Martin

Founder & President

Jeff Martin is an award-winning producer of culture changing films including, Undivided, A River Between Us and Lord, Save Us From Your Followers. Jeff is passionate about literacy in America, and helps to bring much needed resources and volunteers to our most at-risk public schools.

Tony Kriz

Co-founder

Tony Kriz is an award-winning author, theologian, professor, international speaker, and filmmaker. His influence extends from eastern Europe to Portland, OR. From Yale University to Southern Baptists, conservatives, and progressive think-tanks alike.
